    JOB SUMMARY

    NOTE:  This is a FLEX Associate Engagement  

    Position type: Full-time

     

    Join Marriott International's dynamic Project Management team as an Assistant Project Manager with a specialization in design and construction. The ideal candidate is a quick-thinking professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, supporting commercial real estate projects and ensuring strategic outcomes.

     

    Role Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Facilitate design reviews, milestone site observations, and on-strategy project outcomes in a volume-driven process.
    • Foster collaboration among internal teams, ensuring alignment towards the common goal of "Guest-focused Design, Owner-focused Results."
    • Support Project Managers in developing new build/conversion Marriott Select Brand projects for franchisee accounts.
    • Assist in the delivery of projects, emphasizing data management, schedules, and quality standards.
    • Research solutions to issues, communicate resolutions, and promote value-added project decisions.
    • Develop relationships for consistent communication with ownerships, internal stakeholders, and hotel management teams.
    • Support all aspects of the project delivery process, utilizing proprietary database/project management software.
    • Coordinate new Franchise owner orientations, establishing a detailed knowledge of brand strategy projects.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Review of project schedules; tracking and construction documents.
    • Knowledge of procurement processes, including Bill of Materials and FF&E Management.
    • Experience with consultant contracting and scope management.
    • Exposure to preparing bid packages, contracts, and material orders.
    • Familiarity with processing payment requisitions, material submittals/shop drawings, and change management requests.
    • Development of monthly construction project reports.
    • Knowledgeable about innovation within the design/construction industry.
    • Strong business acumen, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

     

    Competencies:

    • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
    • Negotiation skills and flexibility when appropriate.
    • Comfort working in a hybrid (in-person/virtual), fast-paced, team-centric environment.
    • Prioritization and workload balancing as an individual contributor across various teams/projects.
    • Proficiency in utilizing mobile application platforms across multiple devices.
    • Proficient in Microsoft 365, Excel, MS Teams & Adobe products, as well as Project & Database Management Software (e.g., MS Project, Procor, or similar).
    • Education/Certifications:
    • 4-year degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, or Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience within the industry.
    • Minimum 1-3 years progressive field construction experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
    • LEED/Green certifications encouraged.
    • Applicable professional licenses/certifications encouraged.
