    Position type: Full-time


    Join Marriott's Data Center & Cloud Networks team, a dynamic group driving innovation in network infrastructure for hotel guests, properties, and partners. As the Associate Network Architect, reporting to the Senior Director, you will play a crucial role in designing optimal LAN and WAN networks, focusing on routers, switches, firewalls, and load-balancers. Embrace autonomy and growth in a rapidly expanding team that manages networks across data centers, corporate offices, and third-party co-location PoP sites.


    Role Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Design and manage LAN and WAN networks, emphasizing routers, switches, firewalls, and load-balancers.
    • Focus on firewall management, including segmentation, DMZs, remote access, and policy/rules management.
    • Oversee network architecture and design, with a strong emphasis on disaster recovery planning.
    • Lead in-depth expertise in Load Balancing solutions, specifically in Route 53, F5 GTM, and LTM.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in routing protocols, switch fabric technology, and network security.
    • Utilize AWS and Azure networking services, ensuring highly available and fault-tolerant network architectures.
    • Apply cloud-based networking concepts, including virtualization, software-defined networking, and network automation.
    • Leverage deep technical knowledge in network routing protocols, subnetting, network ARPs, VRF, and traceroute.



    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent total years of experience and/or certification.
    • 7+ years of IT networking experience, with a focus on data center networks in a Hybrid environment.
    • Proficiency in routing protocols, switch fabric technology, firewall security, and load-balancing architecture.
    • Expertise in Load Balancing solutions (Route 53, F5 GTM, LTM) and AWS/Azure networking services.
    • Solid understanding of cloud-based networking concepts, virtualization, and network automation.
    • Technical knowledge in network routing protocols (BGP), subnetting, network ARPs, VRF, and traceroute.
    • Experience in technical writing and delivering network solutions documentation.



    • Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
    • Certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CCSA, CCSE, PCNSE, F5 Certified Technical Specialist, or others.
    • Additional certifications like AWS Certified Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
    • Expertise in F5 LTM, GTM engineering, architecture, and troubleshooting.
    • Proficiency in Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls.
    • Strong influencing skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and attention to detail.



    • Technical Leadership: Act as an IT network technical subject matter expert, contributing effectively to project schedules, risks, and costs.
    • Collaboration: Foster cross-team relationships, conduct training, and mentorship programs for team members and peers.
    • Innovation: Drive continuous improvement in processes, present best practices, and provide innovative solutions.
    • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships at the SME level, ensuring compliance and technical support service obligations.
    • Governance: Follow defined standards and processes, providing input for improvements and maintaining a balance between business and operational risk.
    • Project Management: Follow defined project management standards and processes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project deadlines.
