    JOB SUMMARY

    NOTE:  This is a FLEX Associate Engagement  

    Position type: Full-Time

     

    The MDS Finance Manager at Marriott Digital Services (MDS) plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the organization. Responsible for implementing financial strategies, managing billing processes, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts, this role is pivotal in enabling MDS to achieve its business objectives.

     

    Role Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Collaborate with the Director, Business Support to develop and implement financial strategies for MDS, ensuring cost recoverable status.
    • Oversee monthly billing to MDS hotel clients, addressing discrepancies and resolving billing disputes.
    • Manage vendor invoicing process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
    • Assist in preparing annual department budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly variance analyses.
    • Utilize Marriott proprietary systems and processes for financial reporting, analysis, and request submissions.
    • Work cross-functionally with Global Finance Business Partners, providing reports and adhering to deadlines.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field from an accredited university.
    • 5-6 years of full-time experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related area.
    • Working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Familiarity with accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting procedures.
    • Experience with PeopleSoft finance applications.

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize, interpret, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for professional interactions with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
    • Ability to maintain positive working relationships and conduct forums with key stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Proactive mindset with the capability to work independently and initiate improvements.
    • Problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to decision-making and follow-up.

     

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Attend relevant meetings and participate in continual education and self-growth activities.
    • Provide timely updates and information to managers and co-workers.
    • Adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and contribute as a supportive team member.
    • Perform other reasonable duties and special projects assigned by managers.
