GraphQL Platform Engineer

We are actively seeking a highly skilled GraphQL Platform Engineer with exceptional English communication abilities to join our Marriott team. As a GraphQL Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in elevating the digital experience for our global guests and enhancing the engineering process for Marriott associates. This role offers a challenging opportunity to drive innovation within our enterprise solutions.

Role Responsibilities/Duties:

• Act as the technical expert and lead engineer within the GraphQL team, focusing on research, analysis, design, and development of our emerging GraphQL API platform.
• Collaborate closely with consuming digital teams (web, mobile, etc.) and domain API teams, bridging communication gaps and providing technical solutions to address challenges.
• Manage and prioritize multiple initiatives, engaging effectively with diverse teams from various areas to provide expertise and solve unique problems.

Qualifications:

• Self-motivated and results-driven individual with a passion for continuous learning and growth.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript as primary development languages.
• Experience with modern front-end and back-end web technologies and frameworks.
• Proven track record of working with scalable, high-quality web applications.
• Strong understanding of data structures and software design patterns.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization for efficient application deployment.
• In-depth understanding of security best practices and industry standards.

Competencies:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with GraphQL at enterprise scale.
• 8+ years of expertise in developing large-scale API projects.
• 5+ years of experience with Node.js and technical delivery ownership of JavaScript projects.
• 3+ years of experience managing high-volume API projects (30m+ hits per day).
• Proficiency in using Github actions and Harness.io for streamlined workflows.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification.
