JOB SUMMARY
NOTE: This is a FLEX Associate Engagement
Position type: Full-time
This role works across Global Talent Development, Global Talent Acquisition and other HR teams to evolve and sustain our on-boarding strategy and experience. This position is a key member of a project team responsible for the new hire on-boarding experience, including coordinating key elements in the process (travel arrangements for new hires, etc.). This position reports to the Director and partners closely with HR teams, new hires, and Marriott vendor partners.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Project Planning, Management and Sustainment
- Works in close partnership and collaboratively with other team members to ensure coordination, alignment and pull through across work areas (e.g., HR COEs, disciplines, and partner vendors).
- Partners with team to support yearly reviews and updates to the on-boarding processes.
- Works with cross-functional teams to provide necessary support and drive project results and critical milestones.
- Performs critical tasks during lifecycle of program ranging from providing input to project and plans.
- In partnership with the team leader, this role is responsible for the design, development, implementation and sustainment of tools and content associated with the on-boarding process.
- Creates visually appealing presentations to gain alignment, deploy and communicate projects across global stakeholders.
- Creates and maintains supporting documentation on key on-boarding processes and assesses changes needed to the process.
- Supports the development and implementation of on-boarding/off-boarding communication strategies and plans.
- Supports the talent development team with tasks related to the management & migration of on-boarding and off-boarding related learning content (e.g., the Gateway) throughout mid-2024, including content review, limited content creation, and dissemination to HQ and continent stakeholders.
On-boarding
- Acts as an advocate for new hires to ensure their on-boarding experience is world-class.
- Works closely with the HQ new hires to ensure the associate is ready for their orientation, including supporting aspects of their travel arrangements.
- Partners with leaders and teams across HR (Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, etc.) to drive alignment and global mindset to evolve on-boarding experience for new hires from day one throughout the first six months of their orientation.
Skills
- Foresees, identifies, Investigates and resolves issues related to the on-boarding processes in partnership with HR teams.
- Is able to work with databases and large amounts of content/data.
- Provides recommendations to improve the effectiveness of processes and programs.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of function-specific procedures.

- Keeps up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to job.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, User Experience, or related major
- Ability to connect and establish relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in managing spreadsheets and data
Preferred Experience
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, User Experience, or related major
- 1+ years’ experience in event coordination, travel logistics, or other related industry.
- Lodging/hospitality industry knowledge, including emphasis on events, logistics, or customer experience, strongly preferred.
