The MGP DAC Senior Product Owner, reporting to the Product Director of the Digital Asset Center, plays a vital role in advancing Marriott's digital experience on the MGP platform. Responsible for managing assets and supporting technologies, this role collaborates with business and technical teams to maintain a well-groomed product backlog, ensuring customer satisfaction from conception to launch. Operating in a highly matrixed environment, the position bridges technical and business efforts, driving prioritization, development, and implementation of MGP enhancements. The ideal candidate excels in understanding customer needs, balancing user and business value, and navigating complex environments while adhering to allocated budgets.
- Supports cross-functional team advocacy for an enterprise-wide asset management platform.
- Bridges innovation between emerging and existing Digital products and platforms.
- Oversees strategic digital partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintains a refined product backlog with user stories and technical solutions for development.
- Provides clear vision, scope documentation, use cases, and workflows for development support.
- Shapes new product features and optimizations, incorporating them into the DAC product roadmap.
- Develops requirements based on platform usage and stakeholder needs.
- Manages day-to-day team activities, serves as the main contact for MGP DAC stakeholders, and measures platform KPIs, reporting impact metrics to leadership.
- 6+ years of experience in information technology application design or development.
- 1+ years of direct or indirect team management experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification.
- Proficient in Agile Development methodologies, product development planning, and tools like JIRA.
- Ability to translate business needs into technology requirements.
- Demonstrated skill in assessing customer needs, finding creative solutions, and influencing courses of action.
- Proven track record of delivering results under challenging conditions, handling complexity, ambiguity, and aggressive timelines, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership in cross-functional teams to support specific business priorities.
- Expertise in utilizing asset management systems for delivering assets in digital products to enhance user experiences.
- Effective management of multiple projects and products simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including leadership, digital teams, shared platforms, and enterprise teams, with excellent relationship-building, interpersonal, and meeting facilitation abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to articulate product vision, business objectives, and technical details.
