    JOB SUMMARY

    NOTE:  This is a FLEX Associate Engagement  

    Position type: Full-Time

     

    The Senior Director of Luxury Openings is a pivotal role within the Luxury Operations and Guest Experience team. Responsible for ensuring the flawless delivery of new luxury hotels, this role leads and enhances the global openings process, collaborating closely with brand, development, and operations teams. Key responsibilities include driving accountability for opening processes, overseeing staffing, guest experience planning, budget development, and ensuring adherence to brand standards. Additionally, the Senior Director identifies training needs and develops strategies to elevate operational excellence and achieve Forbes Five Star standards in new hotels.

     

    Role Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Drive adherence to the global luxury opening countdown process for each luxury brand.
    • Ensure critical elements of opening success are met, including staffing, guest experience planning, budget development, and styling execution.
    • Develop and track key touchpoints for focus hotels, utilizing scorecards and dashboards to evaluate performance and address obstacles.
    • Collaborate with continents to identify training gaps and develop solutions for upskilling operational excellence and achieving Forbes Five Star standards.
    • Foster collaboration and compliance across matrixed continental and global organizations to ensure on-strategy delivery.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10 years of experience in luxury hospitality, project management, or hospitality business change management with a demonstrated record of exceptional performance, OR minimum 14 years of relevant professional experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field from an accredited university.
    • Experience managing transformational strategies for business units.
    • Proven ability to deliver results under complex and ambiguous conditions.

    Core Work Activities:

    Luxury Strategy and Program Development:

    • Design and develop the global luxury openings process in collaboration with continent leadership.
    • Lead the global luxury openings discipline, ensuring alignment with brand priorities and execution against key metrics.
    • Partner with various teams to enhance engagement and delivery excellence in luxury hotel openings.

     

    Cross-Brand and Segment-Wide Support:

    • Align cross-brand efforts and initiatives to support F&B, Learning and Development, Global Quality, and guest experience goals.
    • Develop comprehensive strategies and project plans for each initiative, monitoring performance and effectiveness.
    • Provide support for global conferences and brand initiatives as required.

     

    Brand Management Support:

    • Offer feedback and improvements for brand service and culture training forums.
    • Support primary brand initiatives as directed by VP Luxury Brand Operations.
    • Oversee brand execution of proof points through openings team and continental resources.

     

    Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities:

    • Lead recruitment and hiring processes.
    • Foster a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and performance management.
    • Support employee growth and development through talent identification and coaching initiatives.
