    JOB SUMMARY

    NOTE:  This is a FLEX Associate Engagement  

    Position type: Part-time

     

    The DEI Project Specialist, reporting to the Director, Global Workforce Engagement + Inclusion, collaborates with the Global Diversity, Equity + Inclusion Team and various HR departments to drive inclusive workplace initiatives and enhance associate engagement. This role involves creating, implementing, and tracking programs and solutions aligned with Marriott's commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.

     

    Role Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Conduct inventory and recommend strategies to keep DEI and engagement tools/resources current on MGS (Marriott Global Source) and Community Hub.
    • Develop and manage detailed work plans with identified deliverables and dates.
    • Research and identify best-in-class solutions for promoting and strengthening an inclusive environment.
    • Provide content review on resources to ensure accuracy in grammar and messaging.
    • Manage the department mailbox, providing timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
    • Maintain the DEI team’s MGS presence.
    • Partner on initiatives to identify and implement technology solutions supporting DEI work.
    • Maintain positive working relationships, manage time effectively, and conduct activities in an organized manner.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in anthropology, communications, marketing, business, or related major; or five years' experience in a related field preferred.
    • DEI knowledge or experience preferred.
    • One or more years of project management experience preferred.
    • Flexibility with the ability to navigate change.
    • Ability to work on multiple, high-priority projects simultaneously.
    • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
    • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint) required; experience with Canva preferred.

    • Technology Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, and preferred experience with Canva.

    FLEX employees will accrue .03334 hours of paid leave for every hour worked and be eligible to receive minimum of 4 holidays annually.  California based FLEX employees accrue .03462/hour PTO and 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours annually.
