    JOB SUMMARY

    NOTE:  This is a FLEX Associate Engagement  

    Position type: Full-Time

     

    Responsible for 24x7x365 support, maintenance, and availability of the z/TPF mainframe platform. Manages line tasks, technical direction, and Service Level accountabilities. Provides leadership in researching, designing, and implementing high-performance, highly available, and secure infrastructure components.

     

    Role Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Lead input, design, and implementation strategies for maintaining a world-class z/TPF System.
    • Install, maintain, and tune technical software products.
    • Mentor and provide technical leadership to the mainframe services support team.
    • Support research, analysis, and design of technical solutions.
    • Assist in capacity planning analysis and reporting for procurement planning.
    • Resolve complex service requests and understand business needs for introducing solutions.
    • Document infrastructure services for solution architecture.
    • Participate in infrastructure services product evaluation and selection.
    • Align plans with enterprise architecture and support governance based on best practices.
    • Analyze current environment for deficiencies and recommend improvements.
    • Analyze technology industry trends and their impact on infrastructure architecture.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification.
    • 8+ years' experience in z/TPF, z/OS, zVM, Linux on Z mainframe or related technologies.
    • 5+ years' experience in 24x7x365 operational support of mainframe systems.
    • Proficiency in mainframe hardware configuration and network management.
    • Technical leadership experience in a sourced environment.
    • Graduate degree preferred.
    • Relevant technical certifications preferred.
    • Experience in performance monitoring, tuning, Assembler, and REXX programming.

    • Analytical Skills: Perform complex analyses for service delivery processes and projects.
    • Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders and support desk.
    • Adaptability: Adjust infrastructure services to accommodate project needs.
    • Governance: Follow IT standards and processes, maintain balance between business and operational risk.
    • Vendor Management: Validate Service Providers' plans, outcomes, and estimates, ensuring timely resolution of service delivery problems.
