    JOB SUMMARY

    NOTE:  This is a FLEX Associate Engagement  

    Position type: Full-Time

     

    Join our Loyalty Engineering team at Marriott International as a passionate Software Engineer to contribute to the development of our next-generation Loyalty Platform. Collaborate with Senior Software Engineers and Architects to design and implement innovative solutions aligned with our platform roadmap. This role involves extensive collaboration, code writing, debugging, and troubleshooting to deliver incremental value and meet user requirements.

     

    Role Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Collaborate closely with Senior Software Engineers to design and implement innovative solutions for the Loyalty Platform.
    • Engage with multiple product and engineering teams to deliver incremental value and meet user requirements.
    • Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and implementation of applications to enhance the platform.
    • Assist in developing proof-of-concept implementations to evaluate cutting-edge technology for business and technology objectives.
    • Demonstrate effective communication skills to engage with superiors and cross-functional departments.

     

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of software development experience with expertise in multiple programming languages and methodologies.
    • Hands-on experience (2+ years) with application development tools.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/certification.
    • Preferred:3-5 years of software development experience with proficiency in Java/JEE, relational/no-SQL databases, and microservices implementation.
    • Familiarity with APIs, REST APIs, web services, and databases like DB2, Couchbase, and Cassandra.
    • Knowledge of technologies such as Kafka, Jenkins pipeline for deployment, Kubernetes, and Docker.
    • Ability to perform requirement analysis, high-level solution design, and API specification development.
    • Experience in agile development and technology leadership.
    • Understanding of TIP starter kit for Java backend microservices implementation.
    • Experience in analyzing/developing COBOL code and/or DB2 stored procedures.
