    The Project Manager - HR Technology is responsible for delivering HR technical projects within scope, on time, and within budget, ensuring they meet Marriott’s expectations. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to technology and HR business unit projects at the enterprise level or for major systems implementation programs. The Project Manager verifies that project goals align with business objectives, manages project teams, and oversees internal information technology projects.


    Role Responsibilities/Duties:

    • Direct project teams, including other project managers on a project-by-project basis.
    • Identify and deploy resources required for projects and serve as an escalation point for issue resolution.
    • Perform IT project planning, including goal identification, strategy development, staffing, scheduling, risk identification, and contingency planning.
    • Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, developing high-level business requirements and cost estimates.
    • Schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks, monitoring progress to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
    • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
    • Manage project risks, issues, action items, and decisions, collaborating with vendors for project implementation.
    • Assist in the development of business cases, including total process cost.



    • Undergraduate degree, equivalent experience, or certification.
    • 5-7+ years of experience in information technology project management across diverse application areas and technologies.
    • 5-7+ years of experience in leading project teams and implementing enterprise application packages in distributed environments.
    • 5-7+ years of experience creating and delivering presentations, PowerPoint decks, and project plans.
    • Graduate degree (preferred).
    • Project Management Certification.
    • Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP).
    • Demonstrated record of managing internal and external projects from inception to successful implementation.

    • Strategic Thinking: Develops goals, strategy, and contingency plans for successful project outcomes.
    • Communication: Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
    • Analytical Ability: Extremely high level of analytical ability to resolve complex and difficult issues.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Very high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and motivate employees in a team environment.
    • Change Management: Ability to align change management strategies with project objectives.


    The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in IT project management, demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex projects within the HR technology domain.
